Any chance that you (or whoever tried to implement them) could spare some time trying to get italics to work better than they currently do? I realise that they are not official but they sometimes prove useful, except when they don't work e.g. my reply here http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/AB-Editors-Blog/Question1232627.html

We'll see if we can revisit. I'll pop a techie task in the pile to do an "offical" version.

I have had problems too -it's a bit hit and miss.
I wondered if they failed when there was a punctuation mark immediately before the [i] but in your case you seemed to set the italics up correctly- unless they also fail if used before a capital letter.
I'll try:

hello bibblebub[i or
[i]Hello bibblebub[i] or
[i]hello bibblebub.]
Seems to be.
weird
Hello[i

[i] Hello ]
It's broken!
weird.

I've yet to learn how to do italics! I've had it explained to me, but I'm still all fingers and thumbs!
