Carbamazepine On 200Mg A Day Atm Wondering If I Can Take Diazepam Really Anxious
6 Answers
Hi there I am feeling really anxious atm I have been on carbamazepine 2 x 100mg a day for mood swings as a starting dose everything has gone wrong today with money banks and that guy who shouts abuse at me went into my block today I saw him but I dont think he actually saw me because I ran quickly into my house and locked the door. I am now sitting in the dark all lights off and curtains closed just in case he is going to come to my door but hes been annoying me sporadically for 2 years now and has never done anything but abuse so logic tells me he wont. It was weird i walked right past him in his car and he was sitting at the lights in the car with his girlfriend who lives in my block and said nothing he only seems to do it alone. Anyway my stress levels are all sky high and I want to take a 5mg valium as I do regulary but Ive never taken while Ive been on carbamazepine and I am wondering if it is ok

carbemazepine works by damping down excessive electrical activity in the brain, and by stabilizing electrical nerve activity. This is why it can work for both epilepsy, which is essentially disordered and excessive electrical activity in the brain, and neuralgia, which is essentially spontaneous pain messages being sent to the brain.
Good stuff :) My Dad is on carbamazepine for Tri-Geminal Neuralgia, and it has proven to be a godsend for him..

I've never understood how one drug can treat so many different conditions.
whether or not he's copying, and interesting point:
and the answer is:
it has more than one action (ha!)
membrane stabiliser - by blocking Na channels as any local anaesthetic _ i wonder if anyone has used it in dentistry
and by being GABA - ergic.
two actions - twice as many uses.
Cupid I would neva have been moved to find that out unless you have mentioned it first
