I've tried reinstalling but nothing works . I still get "IE not working "even when I'm not using it in any way. I've tried making Chrome the default browser, but AB still stops working with the message IE has stopped working .
One thing to check is that the default browser is set as you want by going to the Control Panel, selecting Programs, then Default Programs foillowed by Set Your Default Programs link. Then select Chrome from the list of programs on the lhs and if the display says that it doesn't have all its defaults click on Set This Program As Default.
I have used IE and Chrome to access AB but have experienced the same problems. I have also accessed AB via Google , and other browsers but all had the same problem .
I will get rid of all the shortcuts and start again.
If the message is genuine it seems to me you must still be suing IE rather than Chrome.
I get the choice of using Chrome or IE and choose Chrome almost every time now and certainly when I'm about to go into AB. SO I'm not clear why you end up with IE when you think you're in Chrome.
Maybe you need to disable IE completely (unless someone says it's unwise to do so)
cont: There are Firefox, Chrome , and IE listed under programs but none listed as default. However it hasn't been an an issue as far as I'm aware and the problem with AB is something very recent.
What is the advantage of choosing one of the above ? If I don't choose is IE
automatically used.
I was just about to post that ,since making Chrome my default browser, everything has been OK but that is not the case . It failed again ' saying it couldn't connect to '''www.theanswerbank.co.uk''. After the fourth attempt I have finally made it .
That's interesting 'emmie '. I was thinking of using Firefox . I finally got connected by using Google ( search engine ) . I wonder how long it will last ?
you can't connect using Google as Google is not a browser, Google just finds the web site and then your browser takes over. the search engine has no bearing on the reliability of any web site.
