Just had one of those amazing things happen. Earlier this afternoon my daughter gave me 20 quid she owed me and I shoved it in a pocket of my jeans. Just now took jeans off. No note in the pocket. Looked in front pockets, back pockets and even that little extra mini pocket at front that I have never put anything in. Nothing there. Then I looked in all pockets again. Went downstairs looked on sofa. Not there. Disbelieving searched all pockets one more time even going into the corners. Nothing.
Looked in bag. Not there. Said out loud. Come on St Anthony. What has happened to that 20 pound note?
Something made me go back to the jeans pocket and the first one at the front I looked in there it was. Not folded very small and right in the middle, not down in the corners.
Dont know what to say really. Stunned rather. Anything like this happened to you?

Same as you, St Anthony must be very busy!
Do you have more than one pair of jeans, and got them confused ?
Same too sometimes, though I can never remember it's St Anthony so tend to go for Michael instead and hope!

Freakiest one was losing my flat keys in New York (and suitcase key!), searched everywhere to comments from my ex who I was with. Phoned the concierge, restaurant we'd been in, no joy. Went through the scanner at the Empire State building the next day and my stuff came through out the airport like scanner...with my keys sat on top!!! Was a bit freaked until ex confessed he had just found them in his pocket!
why St.Anthony particularly..

Glad he helps you too Psybbo. No Canary. There was just the one pair I wore today so no simple explanation. And I searched those pockets like a policeman looking for cannabis! Like your story Eve and glad they turned up in the end.
Patron Saint of lost things, think there is a special catholic prayer too.

Patron saint of lost twenties?
St Anthony is very busy in this household and he usually delivers. My daughter lost her house keys, turned everything out of her bag, every pocket searched. She put it all back, looked everywhere she could think of with no luck. In desperation she turned the bag out again and there were the keys - she swears that she'd emptied all the pockets previously.
See the doctor on Monday, carpy! (not Sqad, as he'll put it down to the lingerie that you were wearing).

Barney. I dont know. He is just the patron saint of lost things. I heard a story about a nun who had lost her crucifix. She was wandering about the grounds of the convent and searching the pebble paths. She had tried St Anthony and was still not finding it, so in a temper she kicked a shower of pebbles in the air and said something not very Christian about him. As her foot hit the ground she found she was kicking her crucifix!
You will always find something lost in the last place you look. Because after that you are not looking any more!
roopower, we hare the same daughter
