It means you have to enter your password :-)

Just a double check, smurfchops - some people were apparently reporting stuff "by accident" - no, I don't know how/why either.

the Report option is visible to non-members, so they need to be sure it's being reported by an ABer rather than a passing troll.

I expect it's to ensure that it's you rather than a passer by on your PC. Also there's more than one set of relatives on here who use each other's/the same account I think. It just adds extra confirmation that it's you who wants to report.

Your password, so your better/worse half or children/parents or cat/dog can't report a load of stuff on your behalf.

Additionally, it is a better idea than a Captcha (when you have to put in some weird obscured letters and numbers)
