There's a suggestion to clear your history, elliemay, that may work. I have just done it, but don't yet know if it is effective......so far so good after a minute or so.

I cant get this off, posted on my local Streetlife they suggested I used the official Java website not the free one offered here, have not done so as yet, waiting for Ed to reply tomorrow first '

thank god its not just me with this problem ! cant stay on my precious crossword section, bah humbug !

Spent a bit of time yesterday uninstalling and reinstalling Google Chrome thinking that might sort things out !! .... No Chance... Looking forward to hear what the Boss has to say tomorrow !!
