Dear Ed
Is there any way we can have a permanent link to the instructions that I and others (buenchico, hans urbank) provide on using Malwarebytes?
If not, no harm in asking.

Clicking the Articles tab suggests that there are 151 articles. I have been unable to 'call-up' more than 60 and Not One of them appears to make reference to magnificent Malwarebytes.
Nevertheless,....Good thought Tuvok. It will be interesting to see how the Ed responds. In the meanwhile, perhaps other ABers have suggestions as to the format which could be employed to bring the item to folks attention.
Hans.

Thanks Ed.
Here is Hans's instructions and my recommendation as well. Buenchico also provides good instructions, but can't find one of his offhand....
Download and run a scan with the Free Edition of Malwarebytes.
DO NOT agree to any trial of the Premium edition.

I always recommend turning off System Restore before restarting the computer after cleaning with Malwarebytes, as some reinstall themselves from System Restore.
Restart the computer, scan again. Only when it come back clean, turn on System Restore.

Tuvok has posted elsewhere, asking me to add to this thread.
So, for what it's worth, here's my usual wording:
Download, install and run the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:
https:/ /www.ma lwareby tes.org /antima lware/
NB: When installing it, take care to de-select the pre-ticked option to take a free trial of the 'Premium' version. Don't be surprised if a scan takes ages to run; that's normal. If, at the end of the scan, malware has been detected, use the 'Quarantine' option to remove it.
