Obviously I don't know anything about your business but if it is totally online then yes being the best you can be with regards to that aspect can only be good for business.
However if you are already at the top of searches and your website is functioning well enough for you to do business than I'd suggest that you would benefit more from marketing techniques and tracking/analysis more than the basics.
And that's what some of the companies do - they will seed stories onto other websites and promote your company in many other ways online than just people doing a google search, also you may benefit from user tracking, for instance how users come onto your page, where they go from there, if there are any points that people generally exit and your most and least popular. Also targeted and tracked marketing campaigns that can feed back the best ways to promote what you do. You may already do a measure of this but I have a friend that does this and it's surprising how deep the rabbit hole goes!
My only advice would be to find a local company to you that does this rather than just picking a random one from the many emails you get - as the closer you can work with them and build a relationship the better they will be able to make things work for you.
