What Is Wrong With This Site ?

This site is getting clunkier and clunkier, and I don't think it is my computer which is to blame.
It is taking ages to click from section to section and from question to question. And now I find that after typing almost all of a considered answer, my typing has disappeared !

Probably a rogue advert causing it. Try AB on a different browser.

I agree it often happens; and the adverts are too easy to click onto by mistake. I wanted to thank a responder to one of my queries but it all went haywire - couldn't log on with my usual email address and password and was then invited to change my password, as if it was my fault! Got a message saying Oops .....
I ignored it and waited for a couple of days before logging on again, with no problem.
Perhaps the volume of Internet traffic visiting this site at certain times of the day defeats the capability of the webmaster, or whatever they call themselves nowadays!

No trouble on Firefox and what must be Windows 7 or so, or on Safari on a tablet. Tonyav's advice is sensible: try a different way of getting into the site and see if it makes a difference.

Expect problems on AB if you are using as your Browser either Internet Explorer or Google chrome.

Do as suggested by tonyav.

^^ I'm using Edge, Windows 10,, hans, and last efforts took about 20 mins.. Sometimes (like now) it works. Otherwise - I have been trying to reply to a post on Animals since mid-afternoon. Lots of boxes come up saying that site is not responding and press to refresh.

Enjoying myself now, 1st time today that I can type an answer. Really getting fed-up of trying, especially with some of the ill-mannered and ill-natured comments which se to proliferate these days. Once I click 'enter' I may not be able to access the site again for 24 hours.

Edge is a replacement for IE and is a Microsoft Browser. Consequently, I am Not surprised if similar problems arise in AB, as with the use of IE, which is known to have a compatibility problem. Furthermore, a lot of folk use Chrome with a special 'add-on' that controls matters..

I am on Firefox. I thought it was better earlier today, but now it is a bad as ever.
And, as I said , is is the only website of all the ones I customarily use which is so clunky and slow.
