May I suggest that the report thread form/page has 'spam' already selected as default and the comments box only obligatory if one changes the reason to 'other' ? Would save time & effort.

Probably because most people wouldn't bother to change the category and reports that need a closer look at would get missed.

It's still a pointless compulsory task, that folk are making excuses for. Unless one doesn't bother reporting.

I'd rather that on checking reports things were prioritised, if everything went through as spam that wouldn't happen.

Would you rather the Ed's team were looking at Russian Pharmaceutical sites or Indian Sari outlets all day rather than dealing with posters who need a word in their shell like.

We pay nothing to be members, pressing a button or two to help the site run smoothly is not a big ask.

They should be checking the links. If they aren't then they are simply accepting without checking and that's simply wrong. Reporting has to be just a heads-up as to what needs a decision.
