Dear All,

After 8 or 9 years (I honestly can't remember) of looking after, moderating and editing The AnswerBank in some capacity, I am moving on to pastures new.

I've enjoyed watching the site change over the years, from the frankly wild and lawless place I inherited to the fairly well-rounded site we have now (with a lot of silliness in between).

It has been a pleasure serving the community and I look forward to seeing how it grows and changes in the future. My last day of tyranny will be Friday 30th June.

Naturally, we're not leaving you Edless. In fact, the current Spare Editor will be stepping up to fill in my role (but you know, better). She will be taking up the AB Editor account and using that as their main form of communication with you, our dear readers.

The new Ed has lots of exciting things planned, and I am looking forward to enjoying them as a member.

Yes, I'll be signing up as a regular after I leave so I can check in on the usual troublemakers :)

I am sure there's something I've missed, so please feel free to ask questions below.

G'morning Ed.......I hope you have a party send off this afternoon..... ....Champagne etc. and are able to hold back tears. You will be missed by most folk in AB.

It's my guess that perhaps you have made yourself a Moderator of AB....hence the reason for your being in a position this evening to Suspend from the pub.

I can see that I had better post very carefully this evening.:-)

On your very last day as AnswerBank's Editor, may I thank you for my 11 years of enjoyment as a ABer.

Yes I know that to some I am not very popular, but that is just because my threads on various controversial subjects sometimes touch some very raw nerves.

But then this instils heated debate which as proven in the past to be most popular and surely that is what this site is all about?

As regards your threat, please don't suspend me this evening in the pub, but enjoy a drink on me, as I will be toasting you.

Yes thanks Anne, I'm well re the cancer, just have problem walking like I'm drunk and having numerous falls! Got a new physio now who seems to know what he's doing,...I've lost my centre of balance, apparently :)
