Why Are Certain Abers Allowed To Highjack Certain Threads?

Today I had the need to ask the Editor to remove a perfectly reasonable thread appertaining to the recent riot taking place on a street in London.

From the off set this thread was high-jacked by certain members who obviously have taken a dislike to not only me personally, but also to the threads that I place on the news section of answerbank.

I did report one of the offenders, but no action against him was taken

The ED or someone else was good enough to remove the thread, but did not take the opportunity to chastise the offending members.

AOG....no! no! no!...you have got it all wrong.......the Ed isn't interested and neither was the one before. I suggested many years ago when AB was again in turmoil, but for different reasons that certain ABers should be banned.....just my opinion. So what happened, the Ed banned the "characters" and made 2or 3 of the "troublemakers" Moderators. Well that...

So you had a thread taken down because you couldn't answer the questions Myself and others posed? Neat trick.
Cheer up, AOG....
You're being over sensitive.
I think I'll post a question titled 'Why are certain ABers allowed to accuse others of hijacking a thread when all they did was ask the author for clarification'
Hijacking of a thread is what happened in your 'AB is boring' thread.

The recent thread wasn't hijacked.

Maybe you should rethink how you word your questions...
c'est la vie !! you can always ignore or go make a cup of tea or something !! don't expect everyone to necessarily agree with your opinions or thoughts...
AOG......ALL interesting threads, especially the lengthy ones are highjacked, almost always by the same people. We use to call them" cliques" and that would promote lengthy and contentious debates, but now i suppose they are called "anti-AOG" or "anti-Islay " or wherever the "cliques" smell blood. This frenzy of insults and "anti" behavior has always charactesized AB and always will, the answer being put up with it or leave......many having done the latter.
If an argument or opinion is valid, it should be able to withstand close scrutiny.
Have you never noticed just how many of AOG's threads disappear when they fail to go in the direction most pleasing to him?

I think we now have our answer....
on a serious note, I know AOG has always been a tad cantankerous, but recently he seems to have become ever more vitriolic.
"I did report one of the offenders, but no action against him was taken" perhaps the Ab Editor disagreed and thought you were wrong?
I am put in mind of a playground when one of the kids and stomps off home because the other kids aren't playing the way you want them to.
Good analogy Eccles.

That is exactly the answer I want the ED to read, I don't see why a select number of ABers are allowed to dish out their vitriol so as to cause others to leave.

If this is allowed to continue there will only be those left, and then if they get bored because they have no one to attack they will finish up leaving and the site will collapse.
So you don't consider this post an attack on other ABers?
C'mon, AOG, you aren't shy when handing out the insults!
Ah, so you are performing a 'public service' rather than having a pouty-sulk.....?

It's a little difficult to tell the difference, if I'm honest.
And in a post recently, AOG, you suggested that some ABers were inferior to you!
What would you like the AB Editor to do to the "certain" members?
