I know that I have brought this matter up before, but for some strange reason it was put up to be voted upon, and of course being suggested by myself it was defeated by the anti-AOG brigade.
But this time I am asking the Editor if she would consider making it possible for one to press on a selected 'LATEST POSTS' and then to be sent to that particular latest post and not to the beginning of the thread, which in
some cases can be as many as a hundred or more posts from the latest one?
Yes I know one can go on further and press on the 'LAST' button, but why the need when one can go directly to the latest post at the touch of one button?

I completely understand why you'd prefer it this way, but I also agree with Naomi. It was put to a vote to see if there was an overwhelming amount of people who would prefer it the other way, and as there wasn't, we decided to leave it as it is. If we change it we'll likely have half the members saying they preferred how it was before.

I posted the following (edited a bit here) on the poll thread -
I wonder if it wouldn't be possible to add a line to each Latest Post, something like - https:/ /tinyur l.com/y dbyale5
...each word ("First" & "Last") being "clickable".

/// I prefer to be sent to the beginning of a thread ///
Yes but it does not say 'The 'Beginning of the Thread', it says 'Latest Posts'
When one has been following a particular post with interest, one knows what has gone before, therefore since it says 'Latest Posts' one expects to read the latest post, and not the beginning of a thread.

AOG, if you have been away making a cuppa, pouring a drink, taking a phone call or answering the door, with a popular thread a lot of posts could be added in that time. So if you went straight to last post you could be in a position where you then have to go backwards through the posts to find the last one you had read. No?
I think leave it as it is.

/// If one hasn't been following a thread, one isn't aware of what has been said so far. ///
well that is obvious, buy one has only to enter the News Section (if that is your interest) then
all the threads are there to see, if there is one of particular interesting one, then one just has to click on that particular thread and can then select any page from the beginning to the end, or choose to even read through it from the beginning to the end.
