Capital Letters

Can you please not print the British Broadcasting Corporation as Bbc when it should all be written in capitals? I'm a pedant where the English language is concerned and it aggravates me!

You're not getting a friendly ear with this one are you Juniper? ;-) I agree it looks scrappy when proper acronyms come out like that.

Thanks, Mamyalynne, for your kind words! I have to say I was surprised at the response so, to all the snipers, I would just say that if each individual uses English as they please then in, say, 50 years, no-one will understand anyone else in written communication. I won't care; I'll have shuffled off long before then and will leave you to it.
People have been moaning about titles such as "eBay and the BBC" being rendered as "Ebay and the Bbc" for years, Juniper.
When the site was about to be revamped, the Ed actually asked us all whether we wanted the automatic use of capital letters in question titles or not, with the majority of members being against the practice. So we were promised that it would be discontinued. However it seems it must have only been a 'politician's promise' ;-)
As you're a "pedant where the English language is concerned" though, I'm surprised that you've not pointed out to Mamyalynne that 'BBC' is most definitely NOT an acronym! (It's an initialism).
Indeed, I'm also surprised that you've misused 'aggravate' in your question ;-)
