I hope this ends up somewhere where the appropriate people see it and reply. I am not entirely sure I am doing this right.
Having answered a number of questions for the Lions Quiz Fifty-Fifty and found some of my missing answers, I now have just one to go. It seems to be one that is proving tricky for a lot of people. Q20. Going faster than 50 mph. There is no national speed limit of 50 mph, local councils can set one though for specific areas. Speed cameras were not around 50 years ago. One answer was 'lickety split' but I cannot see the link with 50. Is it perhaps a limit outside of the UK and if so where? Anyone able to help all of us who are stuck with this last one?
I'd hate to be labelled pedantic, but spotty dog's answer isn't technically correct, because Keanu Reeves doesn't drive the bus in Speed. Sandra Bullock's Character Annie Porter does - her name also fits the letters - another option for the right answer, perhaps.
Hello again. I have done some googling on this now. I found that in the early part of the film Keanu Reeves DID drive the bus but when he was wounded then the Sandra Bullock character took over the wheel. So I am now asking myself whether I take the name of a real person or the name of a fictional person as my answer. I think I might be taking an ordinary quiz a bit too seriously!
Hello Mamyalynne - I did choose the real person in the end rather than the fictional one! And looking through all the other 99 questions that seemed to be what happened in all others of a similar nature, except for those where the answer was obviously going to be fictional characters anyway. Thanks.
