morning, Saturday and the start of the weekend. I hope you are all in good health and that your day is a pleasant one. Do you have anything planned for today?

I am going to a friends for lunch and looking forward to it a lot, as i will see their new house for the first time.

today's forecast is a lowly 20c but sunny skies, which is good as its been raining most of yesterday and overnight. So hopefully i won't get wet.

no early birds, all still abed, it seems a sensible thing to do, i am going to have an early shower in a while, and then tidy up after. I need to leave here by 12.00 to get over there by taxi for 12.30.
Good morning, Emmie. As usual, as it's Saturday, my sister will be bringing me some groceries including an 8-pack of beer which should do me for a few days. It's going to be sunny and 20 so we'll sit out on the balcony. I have a feeling that the balcony-sitting days will not last much longer.

morning Sanmac

i can't sit on my balcony, it's way too cold and wet.
in fact i haven't done so for some while. must shut up the chair and table for the winter to come.
Question Author
apart from that are you ok? -
My balcony furniture, which we won in a hospital lottery, has been sitting outside for about 15 years. It's quite sturdy and weather-proof. I trust that you will enjoy your meal with your friends.
Question Author
my furniture is about 5 years old and just needs closing up, i haven't a shed so they have to stay on the balcony.
thanks i will enjoy today, i am taking a nice bottle of Pino Grigio white wine, so will jolly things on a bit.
Morning all, where does your friend live, emmie?
Question Author
the drawback is getting there as i have to take a taxi there and back, and that's quite costly.

morning Naomi
near to City Road, somewhere Sadlers wells is sited,
That shouldn’t take too long. I haven’t been round that way for ages.
Question Author
about 15 minutes i think by taxi -
Morning, Naomi. Remember that thread I posted the other day about Ian approaching Naples, Florida? Well, that pier, which was built in 1888, was extensively damaged. I don't imagine that it'll be a top priority for things to be repaired in the area.
Morning sanmac, crikey! That old? I’m surprised it’s survived at all. Terrible devastation there.
Question Author
that's awful, but loss of life is worse, there have been reports of 10 but sure it will be a lot more.
morning all xx
