Filing A Report

why do I keep getting an error when trying to file a report using the report function?
3 times I have typed it out now!

Did your report message include an apostrophe? If so, this is a known error, and sadly seems still to have been unresolved despite being reported a very long time ago ( https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/AB-Editors-Blog/Question1755711.html )

If not, then I have no idea.

Dont be silly, Gulliver. She gets an error message and the apostrophe thing is a known bug.

You could click the, "contact us" at the bottom of the screen or e-mail the EDs directly at [email protected]

The apostrophe character is used as a string terminator in HTML so, when it needs to be included in an element in a form submission request, it needs to be "escaped". This really is beginners' stuff.

control-A - - - select A
control C - - - - copy
then send -
and if it fails - control - V

if you get the blue delete of death, ( goes blue and next key strike deletes)
control-z reverses

JIM, that explains why I sometimes see on websites, a random "&" and digits in words instead of an apostrophe, for example.

Can the coding not be changed to recognise the apostrophe as being grammatical rather than having a coding meaning?

I wouldnt bother Helen.The last few times i have reported offensive postings about me,all i get back in my e-mails is"we will get back to you shortly".Six months on i am still waiting.Unless you are one of the"clique"on here you are wasting your time.

I avoid any punctuation when reporting.
