Oh I remember it well, our school had a linked terminal to the University of london Girls were not allowed in the programming group all that happened was the brighter boys tried to make it calculate pi and wasted a lot of paper, or created pictures of naked women.... Nothing changes!
but I worked in the transport industry before I was a nurse, and training staff in new systems was often part of my job. I was always one of the first group sent as it seemed I had a knack for explaining to the truly terrified who thought it they pressed the wrong button something would explode, converting data into boxes on reams of paper for payroll... So boring, then getting my first pc with a stupidly large bank loan so I could do my course work at home rather than fighting for a terminal at college. Now my smallest kindle out powers that pc, my current one is pretty low spec but money was tight but it's on my upgrade list, it's my library, my art studio, my admin centre, and at times my link to the world. I am only a novice really but I don't put barriers in my own head.
