with respect to peter pedant sometimes i do read comments on here and think humanity has no hope but on other occasions i read very knowledgeable and insightful information i am an answerbanker technically because i am here hello i have an account and do i care if someone says answerbankers are gormless no i dont because they cant be talking about me because im not gormless you will get over it in a day or two and move on to bigger issues
wolf: "Anyone who doesn't agree with you TTT is dismissed with some sort of insult and then they are made to feel that their opinion doesn't matter. " - not true, I welcome debate, show me where I have insulted anyone who disagrees with me.
I am not condoning PP's comments, which can come across as condescending and insulting.
Just to say tho that I take it as a sort of generalised, jaundiced swipe, rather than an ad hominem or indeed as he would no doubt point out ad feminam insult aimed at a particular person.
To be fair, TTT usually insults broad groups of people rather than individuals. E.g. anyone who is not a right-wing Tory, or thinks that the UK gov't is not perfect, or errrr... anybody else he's not keen on. So no individual ABer is named or addressed face-to-face or man to man.
He seems to have found a working formula for report-evasion. Good luck to the old sugar.
Jim. If someone wants to have our country run by another country and actively pursues that desire then I think 5C is a very mild and accurate term, clearly their own country is not foremost in their opinions. However I welcome alterative suggestions.
Peter Pedant has been a member of the AnswerBank community since 2004. I've joined a year later.
In all that time I've never really understood any of his posts. Not fully. I've only got the gist.
Actually there *was* a time in 2019 when I got what he meant. But then he followed up and I realised I'd got the wrong end of the stick. He could've easily called me stupid in one of his posts but I would've missed it.
jimf: "You do indeed. And you are often extremely rude. How can you not think that saying that another ABer has literacy issues is not rude?" - Because they are not really literacy issues jimf. It's rude when they deliberately misread something then use it as a political foil. Eg what is a lie? Still waiting for an actual example. Red bus? remember that one, RBID? I would never be rude to someone who really did have literacy issues. I can spot the difference me old china.
Again to be fair; I think that TTT really does believe what he says. Of course his advisers might get some flack if he gets suspended again. (Kindly chuckling emoji, and a wink to the old sugar).
thats so odd - i swear you said you never read PP's posts. perhaps you just report every single one of his posts?
I find you extremely rude to people who dont share your political views.
but hey, just labelling what i see ...
bednobs; "I find you extremely rude to people who dont share your political views." - again, examples please. I am robust in my response to people that offend my country and my values.
"I think that TTT really does believe what he says."
Doubtless. And I'm sure that applies to everyone. It's his inability (and that of others) to express his opinions with recourse to rude language and insulting epithets that seems to be the issue.
Ì have no problem with TTT or PP to be honest. I don't find either of them vindictive or nasty. There have been far worse on this site who have got away with far worse postings.
in all honesty lottie, i don't either, but choke slightly on my cornflakes when the person who bandies the most names around, gets upset when someone else does
