Happy Easter to you too, Naomi. For some reason, Easter didn't used to be much of a holiday in Scotland but now places like GP surgeries, Council offices, etc. close Friday and Monday. Weather just now is glorious so expect lots of holiday-makers will be down at the beach. x
Happy Easter everyone. I was reminiscing to my OH this morning. When I was a child I always got a new dress and white shoes for Easter plus absolutely nothing opened on Good Friday. God forbid!!!
When I was teaching, the Easter holiday was always my favourite. Longer days, sunshine (possibly) and a chance to get in the garden. Roast lamb, purple sprouting broccoli, baby carrots and Jersey Royals...a true feast. So much better than Christmas fayre.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Happy Easter.
And the same to you, Naomi. Ours started well with a lovely lunch out to celebrate Mr. J2's 90th birthday (no-one believes he's that age). If the weather improves we'll get started in the garden, or at least clear the pots. :)

We didn't call clothes that, but 'Pace' was applied to Easter. E.g. 'Pace eggs' were Easter Eggs and 'Pace Races' were the egg rolling and general competitions.
In our area you got new clothes for Whitsuntide (walks, trips out etc.).
