Links Not Posting

I'm having problems posting links this morning.  The 'Answer now' button just doesn't do it.  I'm using Chrome and I've had no problems with it until now.  Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else is suddenly experiencing the same.

That is what happens for me since these site improvements. I am getting to the stage of giving up. For Gods sake why can't this site go back to how it was without the silly gimmicks.

Because these "silly gimmicks" are freely available (and have been for years) on other forums, so Ab struggle to remain competitive. But their S/W providers just aren't up to it.

brainiac - I use Edge and if I just 'Paste' (or Ctrl+V) then I get this:

However, if I right-click and select Paste as > Plain text (or Ctrl+Shift+V) then the URL for the link is pasted:

I have great difficulty posting links on my iPad since the chances. It was a simple process before, click on the little square box top right, press copy in drop down box, go into AB, and click ,press paste - job done.  That just doesn't work anymore so I've more or less given up

I've set 'URL copy & paste format default' to 'Plain text' and now Paste (Ctrl+V) works as expected:
