response times are now 20 secs to 60 seconds, what's happened? I have a fast fibre connection and other common sites are instant. What's occuring?

If it's a 'bad neighour effect', then it's largely out of AB's control.  All they can do is to report the problem to the owners of AB's (USA-based) servers and hope that they can sort it out:

At least it's not as bad as it once was in the early hours of each morning though.  At one time it was taking a minimum of 22 minutes (and sometimes well over half an hour) for me to access any member's profile.  As I need to get into the profile section in order to ban a spammer, it could take me over an hour just to zap a handful of rogue posters.  That situation was almost certainly coming about because it was the peak time for US internet users to access their favourite sites, which happened to be on the same servers that AB uses.

About 4 days ago, y BB slowed right down. After managing to speak to BT I'm told that an engineer will be coming to my flat before 17 Jan.
