Can't Sign Digital Documents

We are selling our holiday home and our Solicitors have sent over the contract for us to sign as an attachment.

We only have a tablet not a laptop so can't find a way to sign and return to them.

Is it possible? Or do we have to get them to send the hard copy to us and send back though the post?

Any help appreciated.

I'm somewhat out of my depth here but a quick bit of googling seems to find several free apps which look as if they might help you.  e.g. (assuming that you're using an Android tablet), this looks promising:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sign.pdf.document&hl=en_GB

It should be a solicitors duty to send a physical copy anyway. God knows they charge enough.

What exactly has the solicitors asked you to do? If they've sent you a standard PDF attachment, it's likely they expect you to print the PDF, sign it and either post it, or scan and email it, (or both) back to them. If they've given you a signable PDF attachment, then you should be able to sign it and that's automatically sent back to the solicitor. If they've given you a link to a website like Docusign or Signable, then you can sign the document on that website. If you're not sure what to do given the above, you could respond here but it might be easier to ask the solicitor directly.

Thanks all, I have asked them to send the hard copy for signing but buyer is getting twitchy as he wants to get it done by end of the month (a few days away!) as that's when the stamp duty holiday ends.

Oh well doesn't look like that's going to happen.

No wonder the buyer is twitchy that's a fair chunk of money.

cCan you not pop into the office to sign them?

Since it's the buyer who has an urgent need to have the documents signed, and is set to benefit financially, suggest they pay for the solicitor to engage a courier to deliver a paper copy to you at a suitable time. They can wait while you sign and then return them back to the solicitor immediately.

From Grok https://grok.com ;A straightforward solution is to use a reputable web-based digital signature platform like DocuSign.
-Upload the document to their website via his tablet’s browser.
-Sign it securely online (no special app or stylus required).
-Download the signed version to send back. https://www.docusign.com

^^^ DocuSign requires a subscription of at least £8 per month.  Avoid!

The Docusign subscription would be with the originating solicitor, not the client ...
