Hi AB techies, I wonder if someone can help me, please.  On Insta, I know how to share something to "my stories", but don't know how to tag someone else into that .... I'd be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction, please.  Many thanks, Chox.

AI tells me:

To tag someone in your Instagram story, simply create your story, tap to add text, type "@" followed by their username, select the person from the suggestions, and then publish your story

Thank you so much, I will definitely let you know.  Cheers, Chox.

Question Author

Thanks again barry1010, but what do I click to Publish my story, so that the person I am tagging knows that I have tagged them. Sorry to ask another (probably thickie), but I am a bit of an Insta virgin, so to speak. Cheers, Chox

isnt it the same as fb- if you @someone, it sends them a notification?

Yes, your friend will know they've been tagged

Notification:

The tagged person will get a notification on their Instagram feed, letting them know they've been mentioned in your story.

Direct Message:

They will also receive a direct message from you that includes a preview of the story.

Preview Visibility:

The preview in the direct message disappears after 24 hours, along with the story itself.

Thanks so much, barry1010 and everyone, got it now.  Cheers, Chox.
