Global warming 'is good and is not our fault'

"Global warming is an entirely natural phenomenon and its effects can even be beneficial, according to two leading researchers.

Recent climate change is not caused by man-made pollution, but is instead part of a 1,500-year cycle of warming and cooling that has happened for the last million years, say the authors of a controversial study.

Dennis Avery, an environmental economist, and Professor Fred Singer, a physicist, have looked at the work of more than 500 scientists and concluded that it is very doubtful that man-made global warming exists."

Personally Gromit, I couldn't give a flying f***. I have no kids and personally when I hear carbon footprints, recycling and the like mentioned I want to fall asleep.

Its all okay me putting a few old newspapers in a tub when China is building 2 new power stations a week....

Funnily enough this has always been my theory. it seems reasonable enough to me that global warming could be part of the natural cycle.

Hasn't the warming and cooling all happened before?

Bit rich to blame China when it is the developed world that has been pumping out stuff for a couple of hundred years.

As usual we lecture the world not to do what we have been doing for years.

Bit like telling Iran it can't have nuclear weapons.

Panic I agree with you, I just used china as an example. My two newspapers a week against a power station.

I bet half the stuff that is meant to get recycled doesn't and ends up in landfill.

Nope and nor is Professor John Marburger

George Bush's Science advisor and Director of the office of Science and Technology.

He now says " it was more than 90% certain that greenhouse gas emissions from mankind are to blame."

China and India's expansion is a big issue but we can't talk to them about reductions if we don't do things ourselves.

And that's going to mean a little bit more than the odd bit of recycling.

It's going to mean laws - things ranging from small stuff like banning tungsten bulbs to stronger issues like taxing aircraft fuel to extreme things like not approving new cars for sale if they can't meet efficiency standards.

Saying "I'm not doing anything because China isn't" is the logic of a 5 year old and much the same as standing on a petrol forecourt refusing to stop smoking until somebody else does!

I.m convinced. I recycle, not to save the planet but if I dont get into the habit eventually it will cost me, i think the planet will save itself and the warming up is the start of this process.

I recycle because I've been doing it for years and My mother always told me 'waste not want not.' I was never quite sure if thats the phrase but thats what it sounded like.
I don't think we are completely at fault. I don't think we help the natural prossess but we have only been here in our present state for 50000 years or so, so we have no idea whats natural and what isn't for this planet.
I think they are making mountains out of mole hills.
Keep the public worrying that they are all about to croak and it keeps them noticing the real issues.

Can I just get this right? An economist and a physicist say one thing while 500 climatologists and meteorologists say the opposite, and you think the two of them are right?

Well we (humans) are a part of nature and whatever we are doing or not doing to create global warming is a natural phanomenom!

Humans evolved to be creators of man-made things just as a cow farts creating global warming. We're all part of the same cycle!

climate change is inevitable......this has happened many times on this plant and will happen many times after man is no longer the top dog on this planet.....granted, the industrial revolution may have cranked the handle a bit faster but this planet has been all about evolution since it first came into existence. the planet is constantly changing and always will.

"The planet is always changing and it always will" I.don.No yes that's so right, that's why we are now at the stage where we know about climate change , and can help to preserve our planet for future generations. We are or should be intellegent enough (evolved enough) to prevent permanent damage.

Unfortunatley some seem to be more evolved!! than others.
