I am 67 years old and my father opened an account at the post office for me in late forties/early fifties. I can remember the post office and name of who opened account. I don't know account number and I lost the book a few years ago. There was only a couple of bob(shillings)in the account. I just wish to see if the money in account has grown and if I'm a millionaire so I can get a divorce and enjoy my remaining years in joy. A website to help would be most welcome or if anybody can point me in the right direction.
Yours faithfully
Dennis Brady.
There is a website called something like cash-reunited, a bit like friends reunited, the helps people chase up this sort of thing. I would first of all try speaking to the post office to see if they can help.
"a couple of bob(shillings)" left untouched in a low interest paying account would accumulate next to nothing in interest.why not just get a calculator and time 5 by 5% 50 times and see where you end up ? this will give a rough estimate of whether to bother or not
