freeze panes in Excel 2007

In Excel 2007, how do I freeze the top row of cells so that they stay on the screen when I scroll down?

In my previous version of Excel, there was a "freeze panes" option, but I can't find it in this version.

Help please.

Is it in the Window option at top of screen ?

Hi junkman.

The "Window" option isn't there. It used to be, but Excel 2007 has a different layout which, frankly, I'm finding a bit annoying.

office 2007 is horrible isn't it!!!

it's on the view tab on the tool ribbon.

oops misread the question ... saw pain in the bum ... read the title as freeze PILES .... silly me

there are a few alternatives - I used to run this

but in the end the pain was too great and I'm back on 2003
