Troll names...what are you on about

Hiya people, I am totally lost..what are Troll names...

I keep getting completely lost on CB and always feel like Im missing th point on a lot of threads....

I have no idea what Troll names are...

Id appreciate answers that don't take the P*** out of me and actually do give me an answer that I can understand and follow...

a troll on a website like this is a user name created by a regular user of the site to post anonymous and usually offensive and abusive comments towards other users. most people on this site are fully aware of who the people are that delight in seeing the shock horror responses to their vile abuse, and most people have repeatedly reported them, to the point where the editor has started emailing other users asking them to immediately report any such green names to help him get them removed asap. I suggest that if you think there is such a green name lurking you use the contact us option under your profile to message the ed and copy and paste the thread address.

I'm not an expert as I am not on here enough...but I think a "troll" is somebody on this site that is well known for causing trouble or being a nuisance...that then creates another "alias" to cause more trouble...

Don't take that as gospel but that is my take on it!!

oh and to preempt any daft accusatory comment form any other user, i do not use green names to insult or abuse other users on here, the way some of the regulars accuse other users of doing that is a way of them deflecting the blame from themselves.

Hi Clydeserani. A troll is the official word for imposters who come onto sites such as this with new ids (in green) to pretend they're someone else - most often to cause trouble in some way.
Names in green are also the ids of new people registering with AB, but differ from the ones above by the way that they speak or familiarise themselves quickly with the workings of the site.
A new name can also be reigistered at any time, as a standy-by in case of over-posting, but a genuine user will've let the Ed know of their intentions - and reasons - beforehand.
