My Profile should be just that ~ MY profile

Good evening Ed. I clicked on an avatar earlier because I couldn't see what it was and thought I would enlarge it. It did, but it also showed me the profile of the ABer concerned and an immediate link to all the questions they had asked. I don't like that and consequently have decided that I shan't have an avatar. Just thought I'd mention it.

Everyone will have realise that whenever you write and submit questions and answers you are effectively "publishing" - i.e. your writing has become public. This is true of 90% of the internet!
The public element is important to the AnswerBank as we are a community, you throw your question out to the crowd, and the crowd respond!
Do you not think someone might find your area of expertise particularly enlightening?
All the best

I guess it would stem from not wanting folks nosing at what one has answered. If they want to know something on a particular thread that is different.
Personally it doesn't bother me aas all are welcome to benefit from my words of wisdom, if they have the ability, but I can understand a desire to tick a box saying, "No, past history is private".

I'm afraid sometimes I'm a little too 'open' and have probably on occasion given too much away..... however most of it is true (some of it tongue-in-cheek - which I hope is obvious). But, like Old Geezer said - if anyone benefits from anything I've said - either cos it's cheered them up, made them feel less alone - then that's got to be a good thing. I have nothing to hide - well, nothing awful anyway ;-)
Picking upon something mentioned here, Ed is there a way to enlarge the avatars to see them better - my eyesight can't really make some of them out well. I don't mean permanently, I mean just to get a closer look? I even saved a couple temporarily into 'my pictures' but they just pixellate when I zoom.
