Hi Ed,
I cant get a Avatar because I no longer use my e-mail address (closed account) that is on my profile, so when Gravatar send an e-mail to confirm, I cant receive it.
Can I change my profile e-mail to the one I now use all the time?
I did post similar to you months ago but had no reply.

Just to clarify the AB Editor's instructions- When in My Profile, Edit User Details, you need to enter the new email address twice (first line to enter, second to confirm), then you need to move to the bottom of teh screen and press the Submit button.
I suggest you then log out and clear your cache on your browser before logging in again (Control/F5 I think, or on IE use Tools, Internet Options, Delete... etc)

I'm pleased that you have had a further response from the S E , because I was about to go into the Editorial garden and ask the Gnome why he was sitting about doing nothing.:-)
I hope you now have all the info which you need to set-up an Avatar. In my case it was easy changing my E/mail with AB; along the lines as suggested by factor30. However,I did hit a few snags with the Gravatar site. Nevertheless, I kept at it and hope you do likewise.
Looking forward to seeing your Avatar............Ron.

Yes, I think that was one of my problems; but I can't really recall how I did clear my Browser.
Perhaps Islowry can remind us of the steps involved. The only thing I can be certain of about when it comes to Browsers is that Firefox is better than my original Internet Explorer; which is still in my Comp but is not ( along with Opera) my default it item.

LSLowry seems to be trying to confuse you. When you finally get your avatar working it might not appear on your own computer, although most other people will be able to see it. That's because your computer has stored the old 'default' avatar (with the two 'jelly babies) in your browser's cache, and is still using it.
If you get to that stage, you'll need to clear your browser's cache (not the 'history', as suggested by LSLowry). The way you do that depends upon which browser you're using. You can find the relevant instructions here:
http://www.wikihow.co...our-Browser%27s-Cache
However that's not going to help you at the moment. Go back to the 'Edit my profile' page, which the Editor provided a link to, and try changing your email address again. Remember that you need to change it in BOTH of the email fields, before clicking 'Submit'.
If that doesn't change the displayed email address, use the 'Contact Us' link, at the foot of this page, to let AB's techies know about your problem.
