I am sick to death of reading constant attacks on people who make grammatical and spelling mistakes. Do people not understand that some of these people they are attacking with their nasty cynical ways, may in fact be mentally impaired due to accidents or brain damage or perhaps they didn't get a good school education. There are so many reasons why these people may not be up to the expectations of those who see them selves as so bl00dy superior!!!!

They/we are not all chavs!! Most of us are performing as well in society as those who see themselves as so superior! We are carrying out daily jobs of equal importance and often far more importance than those who sit in posh offices behind their computers etc, so willingly belittling others without knowing anything of their background.

When people come on AB to ask for help with problems in their lives, they should not be belittled and lambasted for their spelling or grammar mistakes. This undermines their questions and can put them off asking for help again. A little empathy goes a long way!

A sticky would be good on this please!!!!!!

i totally agree no one knows other peoples medical history or indeed mental health issues, it can be very disheartening for some abers to be constantly reminded of their shortcomings. and please note not all abers are technical geniuses.

If I get a text-message consisting of txtspk, it's deleted immediately. I see no reason, with today's technology and predictive text, that a message can't be written properly.

people who talk in text speak are probably upstanding citizens, studying well in school, so why belittle them when you know nothing about their background?

I don't think it's much to ask for a post to be coherent. Spelling mistakes etc are easy to overlook but a post without puntuation is difficult to understand, as is text speak. That said, if I find a post particularly difficult to grasp, I just don't bother answering it, I'm in no position to pick people up on gramatical errors!
