Good Day everyone, hope we're well.

I wonder if we can discuss and agree the best way to deal with spammers?

The Editors do their best to get to reports as soon as they come in. Those which have come through today have been picked off asap.

I would suggest though that those who spot spammers avoid posting on their threads. By posting on their threads - even to say "reported" pushes the post back into the "latest posts" box which encourages others to look and comment.

While this is of little benefit to the spammers (they'll be gone shortly after anyway) it is a bit like forcing ad breaks into everyone else's AnswerBank viewing.

The following is mostly directed at the CB crowd:

There also seems to be a habit of some users of trying to "shout down" anyone who reports - something along the lines of "no one likes a grass".

This is nonsense. We provide functions to keep the site free of trolls and banned users. Use them.

The only time "no one likes a grass" has weight is in prison. If you are currently serving time in jail, I can only suggest a visit here: http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Law/ to see where you went wrong.

I noticed a rash of bullying bubbled up last night. If you've found your account suspended, and you were involved, please don't contact us about it - it is permanent.

I hope you have a good weekend.

ummmm ...

If you come back to this thread ...

There's no need to apologise to me ... unless I also apologise for being so annoying.

Whenever we disagree about anything, the next time we meet on another thread, you are lovely.

So, a big "Mwaah x" to you.

I'm from Middlesex, Butch.

Vibra, you're practising your flouncing on a variety of platforms? That should stand you in good stead for the mystery round on the Christmas special.
Nice one Jayne :-) xx

""Are they my mate?" & "Is it me?""

This ^^ is so funny Ed. LOL LOL
Hell's bells - How do we know when someone has been suspended or banned?????????? Or can't anyone answer my question?
tigerlelly, click on their avatar, it will show if someone is active or suspended. If they're banned they just vanish, so nothing to click on.
At the risk of annoying you further tigerlelly (you sound a bit tetchy!) what difference would it make knowing whether someone's banned or suspended? It shouldn't impact on why you use AB- does it?
Thanks jno.

Boo, I merely asked out of curiosity as everyone seemed to know who was banned and I couldn't work out why - but it was about three pages back so I was just making sure that my question was noticed this time.
For a few moments I thought that by mistake I had clicked into CB.

Nevertheless, I think that the intended message has got through to me:-

'Permanently Suspended' is instant death but the soul sort of lives on.
'Banned' members can still 'make music' providing they play pianissimo.

Personally, I couldn't care less if ABers have been Suspended, Banned,
Orcastrated etc., providing, upon their return, their music is no longer discordant.
