If You Had A Twin, But Didn't Realise...

Any suggestions how I can stop out 2 year old climbing the ladder on bunkbeds? The ladder is angled like a "real" ladder as opposed to the wooden ladder on cabid beds which is against the bed vertically.
I have seen a ladder guard to be used on building sites which is a board that covers a number of rungs and locks but we would still like our 7 year old to be able to removed the guard. Does anyone know where I could get a small one of the guards (that doesn't cost 66.75) or will I have to get my tools out and "knock one up"?

Just an idea which you may think daft; could you knock together a rope ladder-type-think that big bro or sis could flip up onto his bed when he's finished? There may be sturdy rope and slats in a hardware store. Sorry in advance if this is the daftest idea on planet me.
