ever had a song thats moved you to the point of taking action? thats my question. if yes can you name the song and what it made you do or pursuaded you to do. mines is 'Give it Away' By Deepest Blue - and it made me realise how its not always worth getting worked up about somethings and to just let them go...a girl in my case who kept screwing me over yet i continued to look out for her. cheers guys

Anything by Chris De Burgh makes me want to fill my ears with superglue.

rofl

Yes, a song that I often use for direction is 'sunscreen' by Baz Luhrman. I think he just makes the right points, it's something to live by.
And "Put your back into it"

Way too many!

Back in 1959 (I'm old) I was going out with a girl called Cathy, and the local fairground started playing that record by the Everly Brothers - Cathys Clown. I got so fed up with the wossname being taken that I packed her in. Always regretted it. Like the song though.
I love Deepest Blue too. Can see why you would say that. Find that Dirty Vegas have a similar effect.

yeah

d.i.v.o.r.c.e by dolly parton.i thought sounds good to me so why not.

d.i.v.o.r.c.e. was by tammy wynette not dolly parton (sorry just had to point that out)

Life Uncommon by Jewel - it's lyrics go

"lend your voices only to sounds of freedom. No longer lend your strength to that which you wish to be free from..."

this wee song, these lines in particular made me finally decicde to leave school when I was 16 cuz I hated it so much. If you want inspiring songs go out and get a few of Jewel's early albums or bootlegs - they're brilliant!

REM   " Everybody Hurts". Always inspires me when I feel down.
louis armstrong " what a wonderful world"
Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush - Don't Give up
I think there are quite a few, Imperium by Machine Head most recently but it's a bit complicated to explain, not least because I can't quote the actual lyrics cos of the swearing contained within!
Please Forgive Me by Bryan Adams. I happened to be listening to this song when I realised how I felt about my boyfriend x
Feel Good by Nina Simone - its my wake up in the morning and smile song ( smiliing in the morning is a tough thing for me to do, as I do not function effectively before midday - but must get up way before then) :)

The Weakerthans - Plea From A Cat Named Virtue

one of my friends sent me this song when i was feeling down, so whenever i feel that way, i always play it and it makes me smile as he is always the one to cheer me up

Starcrossed by Ash motivated me to tell the lad I really liked that I really liked him, and he turned me down but i didn't care cos I met an even greater boy a week later.

Come On Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners makes me really happy and want to dance like a mad(wo)man

Songbird by Oasis - it makes me want to cry and smile at the same time!

I agree with slimfandango too on Sunscreen, that song always makes me feel upbeat and have less worries

songbird by Eva Cassidy (originally fleetwood mac I think). Makes me cry every time.
power ballads give me a lift - john farnham your the voice,
john parr st elmos fire, and running away with you
gaydad - to earth with love
honeymoon suite- those were the days
and the great deepest blue
agadoo dooo squash pineap....
