They are advertising a free guide to growing vegetables, whats the catch?

They offer a freebie then try entice you to buy a regular monthly edition.

You don't have to subscribe. You do have to tell them you do not want a subscription before a certain date tho'
The free guides are a replacement for the Prize Draws they used to run which were considered off-brand.

They test effectiveness of different guides eg gardening or PC at generating new members/subscribers

They have a good reputation i think
I've got every guide they've ever advertised, bella, so there's no catch. Obviously they hope you will sign up for the monthly guides, but I've never had a problem.
The information included is not worth paying for.
There are no catches to any Which? stuff. They simply want to introduce you to their publications.
Same with their computer booklet daisy. Cannot understand why anybody buys Which when it is freely available at the Library. Its a great mag when you need a new TV, camera etc.
Which? is not freely available in all libraries, only some. And a subscription gives a whole lot more than just the magazine.
