After My Abortion Concerns

I got pregnant Dec 2011, i got my surgical abortion procedure done on Feb 15,2012 . Unlike the girls/women there i did not bleed right after my abortion it was light that week, almost like spotting. In Mid March me and my boyfriend where intimate and the condom broke, it was on a monday and i took plan b that friday.On April 2nd i bled heavily almost like a period for a couple of hours then it stopped, then two days later i got a little blood and then it stopped never a constant period after i took the plan b that friday in mid march i didnt have unprotected sex. I took a pregnancy test and it came out positive about 2 weeks ago, but i know after an abortion it takes a while for the hormones to get back to normal, But my irregular bleeding is worrying me...Can someone please tell me if i may in fact be pregnant again or its just my body resetting itself.

I would really appreciate it.

Well, the hormones following your abortion in December should be back to normal, particularly as it was a surgical procedure (so complete)

I think that you are almost certainly pregnant again.

Get advice on a more appropriate form of contraception too... Maybe an implant would work better for you give your body a proper break

I'm assuming plan B is a form of morning after pill? If so, may I ask why you waited until the Friday to take it? Why not the Tuesday or Wednesday?

right from a personal point of view your body is most fertile after a miscarriage/abortion. We had an accident march 09 did plan b that didnt work and i still got pregnant lost baby april 09 - TWO weeks later i fell pregnant again so it can happen(that little accident is now two :) ). Get to the drs and find out for sure good luck x

If you have had medical abortion, it takes 4 to 6 weeks or even more than that for the regular periods to return.

You can get medical abortion with pills. It is possible upto 10 weeks of gestation. And Plan B is recommended for consumption within 3 days / 72 hours after unprotected sex.
