I have seen this particular insurance advert on a number of occasions and I have often wondered how long it would be before it attracted complaints, well true to form it has happened.

Much as they wish to cover it up I am convinced that it is the jolly large black woman (jolly in the term of happy) that I think most are showing concern about.

/// and that it is offensive in stereotyping on religious and race grounds. ///

I still can't understand where the religious aspect comes in though.

But thank goodness common sense has prevailed and we can continue to enjoy a rather enjoyable cartoon even if it comes in the form of an advert.

Not offended but I too thought they were overly enthusiastic about the value of the nector points offered.
37 complaints - prime time tv - daily mail...enough said!!!!
Not offended.
Lol ChinaDoll
It's a cartoon, for gawd sake, get over it!!!
Aren't some people easily offended ??!
Who the hell are these people who complain about stupid things like this.....

Theres much worse going on in the world, they need to get a bloody life. Seriously x
has so far sparked 37 complaints from outraged members of the public[i

37!
37!

Not much of a [i]backlash] is it?

most of the complaints are suggesting it represents over-sexualisation because it features female cartoon characters in bras and knickers

Good grief.
how does the mail know these people are 'outraged' and are all 37 in such a tizzy.
I think it should be banned because it is;

- a bad cover version of YMCA

- not nearly as good at increasing awareness of the brand as the rival 'Meerkat' and 'Tenor' campaigns
ah, a jolly fat black woman like Hattie McDaniel in Gone with the Wind (1939). How up-to-date can you get.

It is nice the way the only black person is fat and the only fat person is black - gets all their tokenism into one drawing and saves so much time.
I'm not offended by the ad, more by the attitude of those complaining.

In the names of all the Gods & little fishes, I despair sometimes...
It is a strange advert with that Big black Women constantly flashing her knickers. I can only conclude it is Subliminal because I have often thought their advertising was pants.
I'm with you there Lie-In-King!!
Obviously I complained 'cos there were no large men in thongs..............

Now this must be one of the offensive in stereotyping on religious and race grounds responses they are talking about.

And I have just noticed a dwarf in the corner of one picture, absolutely disgusting and most offensive to short people.

I ask you?
well said lie-in king quite pathetic
I don't know about a dwarf, but I did spot the Ed in the bottom r/h corner of one picture.
was Hattie McDaniel the ditsy maid who "knew all about having babies, Miss Scarlet " ?
