I saw an advert for an '8-bedroomed semi-detached house' close to where my friend lives. It looked like something that had been furnished from a skip. There were no pictures of the bedrooms.
The asking price: £45,000 per month.

Well I ain't a landlord and don't live in London ..but if I did I wouldn't mind moving out of my house for a month (or 2 or3) at that price..I'd even stay with my ma in law.....sorry for those tenants who are being exploited though...shame nobody can step in.

Commoner - I'll bet you didn't furnish your house from a skip. Fair play to anyone who wants to make some cash, but this house was disgusting.
I wouldn't let my property even if the council said i could for a million quid.
i don't fancy coming back to find it trashed, or as bad with squatters who won't move.
My sis books a holiday rental every year for her daughter and son in law and the grandkids when they come over from Dubai. This year the price for a week has gone up by 600 quid (Cornwall) now that's fine this year they might make the money but sis says she wont book again next year either or ever again. I wonder how many other "regulars" will say the same?
No ..mrs c make me throw all the stuff I get from skips in a ..well..er..a skip! I didn't see that house you mention but that was the asking price...did any body take it I wonder :-)
Is this it anne. http://www.rightmove....roperty-22686471.html

I'd want a lot more luxury for my money than that.
Hope the landlord provides breakfast! In Fulham, you'd pay £800 a week for a room, say £3,600 a month, all year, per person, £24,800 a month for the 8. But this a whole house being let, so there'd be a good uplift.
No idea what the going rate is for a whole house is in Stratford area. But where you get a short let for a month, there's always a big increase on normal letting rates; someone who does holiday lets may get as much in the holiday season as they'd get for the whole year normally.
i read that article and it says 4 double bedrooms, am i missing something, as the headline and the post says 8 bedroomed house. Perhaps it's early and i am not quite awake.
Oh gosh....that is cheap and nasty looking. I wonder if it is a typo? I can't see any one paying that. Any one who would, would want total luxury at that price.
it looks like an ex council run home for the elderly ?
That was eagle eyed em, it definitely says 4 double bedrooms doesn't it. Makes it even less value for money, if that's possible lol.
i am even more confused, i thought it was one property, so why does it say both properties? and put quite clearly 4 double bedrooms. Sorry it's too much money however big.

I imagine that they are using some of the downstairs rooms as bedrooms too, and just having one lounge and maybe a kitchen diner.
I just noticed that wording, also em. Maybe it is the 2 together. Makes it even more questionable that so much is being charged.

There is a blurb to the side of the page "If you see any mistakes....."...Price??
Edit...it says

Both properties consist of good size lounge, separate kitchen, bathroom, 4 double bedrooms....
Can't blame the owners - more fool the people who pay that sort of money.
LOL at that weird little fire ...

=0D

I'm sure my granny used to have one like that.
Think I'll let my shed which is very convenient to one of the olympic venues. Wonder how much I'll get?
Question Author
That's the one, Rocky. I can now see the pictures of the bedrooms, and the very exciting one of the stairs.
Seriously though would you not all let it for that amount if you could to a corporate entity that could afford it for three months. If they pull this off and I hope they do, then that could be a lifechanging amount of money for the people who own it. If I had a house in Stratford that's exactly what I'd be doing- you'd be crazy not to.
