Feel slightly disgusted and disappointed to read this - is this REALLY the best of British? Who has organised this load of rubbish? Russell Brand singing a Beatles a song!!!! Good grief - Sacrilege! George Michael - with his reputation? The only acts seeing (IMHO) are Eric Idle "Always look on the bright side of life" and "Queen" with projected tribute to Freddie Mercury. The Queen hasn't confirmed yet whether she will be attending (wisely waiting to see the line up? LOL ) but I would think she will be as embarrassed as we are if other countries think this is the best we have on offer! I'm sure other ABers will disagree with me but everyone is entitled to their opinion ............ what do you think of this event?
It is a brilliant idea - put all the cruddy idiots who think that they are talented on the stage and then give the military a chance to test fire their missiles. :-)
I wish everyone would stop being on such a massive downer and just get in the bloody spirit about the Olympics. The rest of the world will be embarrassed by us but not because of the acts on stage, because we are a country of whiners who can't seem to enjoy ourselves.
Madness, Elbow, Take That, The Kasier Chiefs and Tiny Tempah should be fun.... Also Liam Gallager or The Manic Street Prechers could be alright... Russel Brand's a numpty and I don't like George Michael but those other acts I named I would enjoy.
What about the Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart, Alfie Boe, any of the world famous UK 1960s/70s groups who still tour .... to name but a few.
Evian I do not "moan" about everything, I did say everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I was just saying these are not to my taste and I asked what do others think?
I like russell brand and whats george micheals rep got to do with his voice?
The other acts sound pretty good as well.
The olympics aren't my cup of tea but i'll tune in for this
The olympic ceremonies weren't put together in order to try and please Ann off Answerbank. I think you'll be in the minority of people who are 'disgusted' with the show we put on.
