Is The Office For Value For Money Poor...

A mystery about a mystery, in that I can't remember for the life of me the title of a murder play I saw in London's West End no later than 1991, in which year I moved to the Isle of Man.
A man goes to someone else's flat with the intention of murdering its occupant(s) for some past slight, which I think had put him in prison for a long time.
The tables are turned, however, when they - a couple, I think - trick the would-be murderer into entering the balcony, lock the reinforced glass patio doors behind him and take off on holiday. It is plain at the end of the play that he will die there without food and water or any means of summoning help. Can anyone recall the title and/or author, please?
