Sick of reality tv!

I want to be entertained by entertainers, not laugh, cringe and despair at wannabees, Z listers and no-hopers.
I don't want to watch people of low intelligence, low aspirations air their very dirty laundry in front of a very smug Jeremy Kyle.
I don't want to see Joe Public humiliated on tv to line Simon Cowell's pocket.
I don't want to watch attention seeking strangers locked up in a house 24/7. Brilliant concept, rotten show.
I don't want to watch grovelling chat shows with guests who have a book, show, record, film to sell.
I don't want endless repeats. I bit of nostalgia is nice, but I don't want to live the life of a groundhog.
I don't want to be treated like an imbecile in what should be informative programmes. Martin Lewis's new show treats its viewers as five year olds, for example.
It is cheap tv - cheap to produce and cheapens the idea of entertainment.
I want drama, sitcoms, professional variety shows, old fashioned light entertainment, gritty and thought provoking documentaries and debates.
Having said that, I do love Strictly Come Dancing. The glamour of the dancing and the very real struggle of some of the contestants to master the basics of the dance. It has an old fashioned flavour and there isn't the humiliation of the public as in the X Factor.
People are spending more money than ever on tv and televisions are bigger than ever - hd, 3d, Sky, Virgin, premium channels and we are getting rubbish programmes!
Sorry for the rant. What do you want to see on tv?

I record a hand full of programmes during the week but winter throws challenges of what to watch when it gets dark at 6pm. I LOVE radio 4 -the plays are fantastic -think I'll be listening to radio 4 a lot this winter. think this maybe an age thing - in the good old days we only had three channels but the stuff on there was worth watching!
