Channel 4 advert American Diner

Channel 4 have an advert for themselves - there is a series of them - a block of flats, a street etc where as the camera angle changes, the '4' logo is created.

Does anyone know where the American Diner is? It looks like it could be in Nevada, New Mexico or Arizona, very dry and with Joshua trees. The same location was also used by Volkswagen as a back drop for the New Beetle Ragster concept shown at the Detroit motor show.
