/// The commercial has even managed to unite feminists and members of the Fathers4Justice campaign in condemnation. The fathers rights organisation has threatened a ‘turkey sit-in’ at stores if the adverts are not pulled. ///

Load of bloody PC rubbish................some people need to get a life.
Asda know their audience

Who makes the most shopping decisions for Christmas? 'Mums' or 'Dads'

So who do they need to gain rapport with?

Special interest groups grabbing a few headlines can't change commercial realities
Ditto craft.

The domestically incompetent bloke has been a comedy standard for ages, just like the mother-in-law, Irish people, Essex girls. and numerous others. Surely to God people aren't really taking it so seriously, are they?
Whoever complained then they really need to get a life, what a bunch of saddos.
Is it not fact that the women still do the lion share?
Do people seriously not have anything better to do than to complain and whine about something like this? If they are offended by this then I'd really hate for them to ever stick their nose out of the door and encounter the real world. Exactly the same sort of people sue someone because ' they were given the wrong ladder'- they seriously get on my fecking nerves.
Jason Manford posted this on Facebook this morning...

*I can't win with this ASDA advert. I first post saying it's sexist because in our house we're equal and we share the responsibilities of Christmas, and I get hundreds of women telling me I'm wrong and that Mum really does do everything.
So then I go along with this stereotypical theme and suggest maybe the Dad has worked hard all year to earn some money, and I get called old fashioned and sexist.

I mean, me, sexist? As if. Why you all so angry? Time of the month or sommat?*
That's exactly how it happens in our house, I bet a few million others as well!
To me it's a traditional, if a little dated, view of Christmas aimed at a target audience.

You don't have to shop at Asda so I suggest the pressure groups head for Tesco or Morrison instead?
Some people really need to get out more! I've never heard such a load of tosh in my life!
Some people will complain about ANYTHING !!

I like the ad.
it is more subtle than you have noticed AOG, spotted what grandma is reading yet?
"‘turkey sit-in" Men? Sitting down for lengths of time? No way! How will they handle that?

I love the advert by he way :-)
I love the advert, and my husband admitted that that's how it is in our house. And he wouldn't have it any other way :)
Good ad, I see nothing wrong with it.
I like the advert, not sexist at all, truthful.
haven't seen an advert since the invention of recorders
Load of rubbish. People really are pathetic at times!

Duncer has the best idea - if they don't like it they don't have to shop there.
We have a man, and a woman, given that scenario there will always be someone who sees something wrong with it!
Fit burd though. :)
