£2bn of UK aid to help Third World go green
// Britain yesterday pledged almost £2 billion in “climate aid” to help finance foreign projects including wind turbines in Africa and greener cattle farming in Colombia.
Each household will contribute £70 to schemes to tackle climate change in developing countries before March 2015, under plans championed by Ed Davey, the Liberal Democrat Energy Secretary. //
The moan has always been that there is no point in us all going green because the rest of the world will still pollute. Well now, the Government are tackling that by donating aid to 'Green' aid schemes.
A win-win for us all surely?

How on earth do you equate this as a win? The Boy George is about to slap further austerity measures on us and with the other hand dish out 2bn to foreigners on the Emperors clothes.
This Tory Government has truly lost its way. The sooner they are out the better.
Farming in Columbia. Yes of course, farming maybe but it wont be cattle.
Each household wil contribute £70. That includes those on benefits and pensioners I would imagine. Nice.

Yet another example of a weak Tory Prime Minister kowtowing to his Liberals counterparts.
Perhaps we should first be addressing the problem of our pensioners dying from the cold, before we start handing out money all over the World?

seems our cities are taking the brunt, however i stand by what i said, that much of the land grab and build is happening down here, you can't build on certain parts of the country from my understanding, national trust land, or designated wildlife reserves. If they build more towns, say like MK, or Welwyn Garden City what about jobs in those areas. The last time i was in that neck of the woods jobs were not easy to find.
With all the £bns put towards green energy it doesn't seem to make much difference to our climate and disasters. Maybe the problem is not solvable and we're all wasting out time. Has any expert done the figures to actually solve the problem rather than plouging more and more money into a bottomless pit.
