Not Happy With Rbs

I needed to withdraw cash today fairly urgently (£2500 so had to be done over the counter), I never bank at the weekend so before going into town I checked the RBS website and it stated that my branch, and indeed all branches are closed on a Saturday. I therefore changed a few plans around which has put me out no end only to discover that RBS do open on a Saturday as a friend told me he had been to the bank!!

How annoying and I dont know if I should take this up with them , it wont make any difference now but the mis-information has cost me time and money as I needed to purchase something this evening.

You could write them a stern e-mail saying their website info is incorrect. But It'd be better for your health to put it behind you as 'one of those things'.

Yes, let them know their information is incorrect - but all main branches open until midday on Saturday these days. Can you take that much without prior approval over the counter?

disagree, Old Geezer: online misinformation like that needs to be sorted out and the bank will probably be pleased it's been drawn to their attention.

having said that, I've had a quick look at branches on their website, and some are said to be closed but others open till 1.30.

Well I'm definitely confused here because the RBS website's branch locator includes an option to 'Filter by branch facilities' (at the top right-hand corner of the map), where you can select 'Saturday opening', and my nearest RBS branch is shown as being open from 0900 to 1300.

Here is 2 links, the top 2 sites that come up on google when you type in "RBS opening times" I selected the nearest branch to me but it states that ALL branches close sat and sun

Ok I admit I didnt select every store but all within a 20 mile radius of me state close and yet a friend of mine visited a local branch!

I must say that I am hacked off with them to. The family share a commercial property and the tenant pays into a RBS savings account off which there are DDs to respective accounts. Nice and simple and it has worked well....just received a letter to say that they want to change this as they can only have DDs off a current account. Why and it's a needless hassle?

Yes jd. That looks like info sites unrelated to the bank, to me. Maybe your annoyance was caused by those who aren't keeping the info sites up to date ? Always best to check at the actual bank site.

DT I experienced that setting up a DD from my savings account, had to be from CA only!

those aren't RBS sites; but RBS's own site (which you should check first) does say that branch is closed on Saturday
