'win A House With Kelloggs Cornflakes'....did Anyone Ever Win One?
I know I should be down the local studies section and trawling through microfilms but I thought I'd try the much better route of asking AB.
Do you recall the advertising campaign for winning a house with cornflakes?
Here it is, but I'm wondering whether any of these houses were actually awarded - and whether any of them still exist.
I have a recollection of a certain place bein g called 'the kelloggs house' when I worked in Accrington decadesa go, but can't recall anything more about it.

That was an interesting link, Buenchico. Well, to inject a bit of substance into this thread: I once won a car in a competition that was run by the makers of Oxo cubes. It was a brand new Hillman Imp, and it was the first car that my wife and I had ever owned. So that, at least, isn't a myth!

This is the only mention of 'win a house with Kelloggs cornflakes' that I could find:

It almost looks as if it might be an idea that never really got off the ground, an urban myth, if you like.

Myths seem to occur in lots of places!

There was a bungalow opposite us in Stretford. The old couple that lived there told us they had won it as prize from Kelloggs.
They told us that they were told to find an available piece of land in the area that they wanted to live and that Kelloggs then purchased the land and built a bungalow (their choice) on it.
Kelloggs have a large plant in Trafford Park which is about 3 miles from where this was.

Finish dishwasher tablets had a house plus extras some time in the eighties I think, if you found a gold tablet. The first tablet I took out of the box was gold, thinking that they had changed their product popped it in the machine only to find next day that the rest had reverted back the the usual red and blue. Only when tearing up the empty box weeks later did I find the small circular sticker on the side announcing the campaign, as the gold tablet was no more decided not to tell my family so kept it to myself for years
