I have promised myself that I will never post on a desktop thread again - so cannot reply directly there to your remarks about the "snide clique".
Virtually everybody (including me in the past) has offered the same good advice that you have belatedly arrived to give. We have watched as it is systematically ignored, but many people continue to try to help - and yes I think that an element of 'tough love' is appropriate.
Whether through the medium of humour or by pointing out just how trivial many of desktop's problems are (or at least could be) by comparison with many of the really harrowing, life-changing (or indeed life-ending) events that other people on AB are currently going through - either way desktop needs to get a sense of proportion and be stirred into some sort of action.
Mental health issues are terrible (been there, done that and never want them again) - but everybody backing off and treating the person concerned with kid gloves is rarely the answer (it certainly was very [i counter productive for me).
Desktop has several choices about interacting with others here - the most obvious is to withdraw if she is not happy - or to post in Body and Soul, where we have been told in no uncertain terms by AbEd to back off and just concentrate on the specifics of the question asked.
But she continues to post in CB - which (although not the Wild West of the old days) is a more robust environment where she can expect some humour and challenging posts - whether [i] you ] like them or not.
The character assassination and belittling of others you are now hurling around is just bloody ridiculous - I used to respect your opinions, but you seem determined to make me look a prat for defending you in the past, as I can no longer do now.

I too agree with NOX.
Mental health issues are variable and I've had my own fair share in case you were wondering.
DT isn't just a bit down. She seems to have genuine problems with coping with adult society. I don't mean coping as in caring or not about it, I mean coping as in having the actual function to deal with it.
It is you who is wrong IMO, not NOX.
I saw no character assassination. Certainly no more than I see on every DT thread. You are attempting to belittle NOX now. Where is your high ground?

Then maybe she ought to come out and say that, triggs.
There are learning lessons for both sides here with what has gone on and is it really worth a bust up about......I agree with the comment about resorting to being personal, rude and snide in responses as it is not necessary - I saw that this afternoon and reported the thread as well as requesting that it was taken down - which it was. Not you NOX, to be clear.....
I am sounding like a bloody pacifist here - oh and, whilst I am at it, DT is desktop, not me! (china's remark - lol)
