I eat healthily but have to confess to the occasional weakness for a Greggs pastie. What are your views on Greggs?

I found out this morning that a shoe shop in my town which closed down is soon to re-open as a Greggs. Yay!!!
I do like their sausage rolls - very tasty!
I like their steak bakes.
Well, a pastie will be cheaper than a pair of shoes.
a weakness MrsO. i would never have thought it.

The shoe shop is no loss - they didn't go up to my size :-(

Maybe I should have said indulgence rather than weakness
there a greggs in brussel too
Yes - their steak bakes are nice.
imo, they exist as an affirmation of the right of even the best among us to succumb to occasional moral turpitude and scarf the odd pasty, a steak slice at a push..

..the rest of the stuff they sell is pretty carp

humber, I didn't know they did a carp pastie?
I have tried one sausage roll but didn't like the bright pink colour of the 'sausage'. One bite and in the bin.
I tried a pastie and found the filling too sloppy and gloopy but I ate that. I haven't bought anything from there since.
used to like their bridies, but gone off them.

The student alba likes their steak bakes.

Ordered a birthday cake years ago for the young alba, it was yummy.
manners forbade a more accurate description mrs o
tilly, the sausage rolls should come with a hazchem sticker, imo

adds hastily, other bakers are also available
I think they're a great company, built on good old-fashoned family values. I like the vegetable pastie or the cheese and onion. Their bacon roll and fresh coffee isn't bad either!
The Carp stuff, catering for Eastern European tastes? I believe Carp is considered a delicacy there.

Sandy, yes. I have some Polish friends who have carp for Christmas dinner each year.

The sausage rolls look grim if you open them up - pink gloop - but they still taste good
Does anyone know if DTC has any thoughts on Greggs pasties?

(asked with the most innocent of expression on her face)
dons tin sou'wester and hunkers down ;)
