What's In A Brand Name ?
I have had a big heavy Sharp Microwave oven for many years and it has been in use for most of that time but I'm wary of buying another Sharp because of a minor repetitious fault during its first 18 months. The inside bulb kept blowing every couple of months. To change it involved removing the carcase every time. I complained to Sharp's customer relations' department 3 times during the guarantee period but they never replied.
I gave up on them and carried out a small modification myself on the bulb mounting and have only had to change the bulb once since , but because of their poor service I never buy any Sharp products .
On the other hand I had a fault on my Cannon camera which they repaired
FOC after 5 years. Naturally I look favourably on their products.
I often think if companies spent more time on PR and servicing their products they wouldn't need to spend so much on advertising .

I got a replacement free of charge because the broken one was under warranty. It's going on ten years and the replacement Kenwood is still working like new.
