Info from the net stated that Colgate promotion "swap your old electric toothbrush for a new one" at Waterloo station began today, off I went with my old one & when I got there around 9.30 am there lots of angry people milling around the stand which had been closed until further notice, apparently the queue got so big that it was disrupting the station so the station security closed the stand or that's what I was told.
I thought it was too good to be true.

Never heard of this promotion, how much was your train fare down :)
She means.....could you have bought a new toothbrush for that?

Lol, in a nutshell!
It was advertised in the Evening Standard last week. It also said it would be on Victoria station I think 22 July (?). It said the new toothbrush was worth 160 quid (or 80 on offer), so of course they were going to be swamped.
Trigger, are you telling porkies?
Those Colgate electrics aren't that good, anyway - hence, resorting to giving them away!
£80 on offer? does that mean if you hand your old one in you pay £80 for a new one?
Actually , people were turning up with their ordinary tooth brushes
...should have said that in the latest Which? tests, they were the worst electrics available.
A shocking state of affairs.

So you've got a nice new shiny pair of orange Hunters? Excellent ;)
Ah, have you lots of blisters?
I read on a gardening site that wellies are great for growing herbs.

Luckily I have a bus pass so the fare was a freebie, they were supposed to be free but you had to hand in an proper electric toothbrush not a battery operated one, it stated Waterloo from today and Victoria Station next week, presume they will rethink, I saw it on Martins Money Tips. I was not amused.
I bet you wasn't, what a drag!
You have to love this comment from one disgruntled swapper...

"Deeply disappointed. I arrived in good time to partake of this offer for myself and my husband Maynard. Was accosted by a large man when the crowd surged who said "get a move on you daft trout or you won't need a brush as you won't have any hampsteads" whatever that means. Either way I was left shaken up and rather agitated, what has happened to the British habit of good orderly queues?"
